The RAD2X is the perfect plug and play low latency solution for connecting your Sony PlayStation 1 to a modern flat screen television. This is based on the same technology used in the RetroTINK2x with the added bonus of supporting RGB video, and unlike other all-in-one HD cable solutions the RAD2X correctly interprets the the 240p signal correctly and processes this as a progressive scan image and then line doubles this to 480p. This product does unfortunately require a microUSB power supply to function. However on the plus side the RAD2X benefits from fast switching between screen resolutions and also a smoothing feature for enhancing 3D games!
This was designed specifically for use on the original PlayStation 1 console, however this will also work on the PlayStation 2, but unfortunately the RAD2X will not accept any input signals above 240p/480i, therefore the PlayStation 2 needs to be set to RGB mode and not Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr mode.
Requires a Male HDMI® to mini C HDMI® cable, and also an external power via a microUSB cable.
Please ensure that you boot up the RAD2X at the same time as the Playstation, otherwise if the RAD2X is powered up first it will not detect the RGB signal and default to composite video, but since this cable is wired for sync over luma the image will be in black and white.
